It's Episode 13 of In the Mood for Podcast, a British-based film podcast hosted by Calum Reed of Ultimate Addict and Pete Sheppard of In the Mood for Blog. Nothing's what it seems this week, as we tackle two documentaries about deceit, "The Imposter" and Orson Welles' re-released "F for Fake." We're stopping in at Iran for "Circumstance," a dose of teen lesbian angst, while we assess how well Andrea Riseborough struggles with moral conscience in James Marsh's "Shadow Dancer." "Passion," the danger-filled new trailer from trash master Brian De Palma, gets the 'mood for' treatment, and the episode's light relief comes in the form of an update of "The Three Stooges."

Discussed on the podcast:

Opening Segment: Discussing the trailer for Brian De Palma's new film "Passion." [1:40-13:25]

It's Episode 12 of In the Mood for Podcast, a British-based film podcast hosted by Calum Reed of Ultimate Addict and Pete Sheppard of In the Mood for Blog. We're down with the alpha males this week, as the testosterone flies through Simon West's "The Expendables" and in Tony Gilroy's attempt to preserve the legacy of Jason Bourne's franchise. The women this week are less easy to figure out, but we endeavour to anyway, dissecting the love triangle in "Take This Waltz" and pondering the relationship issues in "The Wedding Video." Just as female honour looks on decidedly icy ground we celebrate our favourite directorial achievements by women. Germaine Greer would be proud.

Discussed on the podcast:

Foreword: The untimely death of Tony Scott.

Opening Segment: Discussing the results of the recent Sight and Sound critics poll of the top 250 greatest films ever made. [4:10-17:55]

Reviews of:

  • "The Bourne Legacy"
  • "The Expendables"
  • "The Wedding Video"
  • "In Our Hands"

[52:05-1:23:30]
